Randy Thomas is President and CEO of Insite Commercial, which was founded in 2001. Since graduating from Michigan State University, Randy has held positions of Director of Secondary Marketing and bond trading at Sterling Bank and Trust, and also Vice President of the Retail Division at Schostak Brothers and Company, responsible for property assemblage, working with anchor tenants, sale and leaseback of commercial properties, and specializes in the development, acquisition & disposition of commercial and residential vacant land. Currently Randy is a member of Michigan Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, International Council of Shopping Centers, as well as a current member and past President (2004 & 2011) of the Commercial Board of Realtors for Michigan.

Deanna Schmidt is the Executive Assistant to the President/CEO and Operations Director of Insite Commercial. Deanna attended Oakland Community College and from there went on to work for a national timeshare company where she held the position of Marketing Administrative Manager. Deanna began her career with Insite in 2002, as an Administrative Assistant to the Retail Department. Shortly thereafter her position transitioned to Executive Assistant to the President, and later Operations Director, where she is responsible for not only the activities of the President, but also oversees the day to day management of the office and marketing and research.

Committed to client service and professionalism, Simon Rubin is the leader of Insite Commercial’s property management division. His responsibilities include financial administration, property oversight and business development for Insite Property Management. Attention to detail and analytics are Simon’s strong suits. He has a deep knowledge of the industry, as well as many years of first-hand experience in real estate investing and management.

Simon joined the Insite team in early 2018. He came from a research background, not only in his academic career, but also as a project director at a well-known market research firm. His path towards real estate started with value-added investing in the Detroit area, as well as Toledo. Since joining Insite, he has taken his research experience and applied it to investment underwriting and market analysis for various transactions and clients.

Simon graduated from Arizona State University with degrees in both Psychology and Tourism Development. Simon is currently working on achieving a CCIM designation, which would formally recognize him as an expert in the disciplines of commercial and investment real estate. He also currently sits on the Zoning Board of Appeals for Sylvan Lake, Michigan.

Jason Kozak offers a specific focus on Healthcare Real Estate at Insite Commercial. He has a bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering with a concentration in Construction Management from Central Michigan University, specializing in the healthcare sector of medical construction and specifically focused on the construction of surgery centers, hospitals, nursing care homes and medical office buildings.

With more than 25 years of experience in design/build, construction management, and general contracting, Mr. Kozak excels at all facets of construction to help provide his client with turnkey service. He knows what it takes to get the job done and is accustomed to managing every aspect of the expected and unexpected. He sets expectations with deliverables and provides one-on-one attention, as if you were his only client. Jason brings a unique level of experience and knowledge to assist in feasibility analysis, site selection, design, construction, and consulting, providing clients with the utmost attention to detail every step of the way.

Mojahed Abubars has been in the real estate industry for over 10 years, beginning with his experience in real estate financing and then transitioning into brokerage. In the past few years as an associate broker with Insite Commercial, Mojahed developed strong relationships with leaders throughout the industry. He has built his reputation on the highest levels of integrity and service and knows what it takes to achieve the results that maximize his clients’ objectives. Mojahed is a CCIM designee and also serves on the CCIM-Michigan chapter board.

Kyle Nelson is a Sales Associate at Insite Commercial. He specializes in Industrial, Retail and Investment transactions. After graduating from Detroit Catholic Central, Kyle attended Oakland University where he received his bachelor’s degree and was a 2-year captain for the men’s ice hockey team. Kyle uses his student-athlete background to deliver a precise and timely service for his clients. Kyle is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), pursuing his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation and is a board member of the Commercial Board of Realtors (CBOR) and the Detroit Catholic Central Alumni Board of Directors. In his free time Kyle enjoys his classic cars and spending time with family and friends.

Jennifer is a practicing attorney with a Masters in Real Estate Law and almost twenty years of legal experience. She joins Insite as a Broker, with an extensive real estate background, involving both transactional operations and legal matters.

After graduating from the University of Michigan and Cooley Law School, she moved to Chicago for her legal career. She specialized in real estate law and foreclosure, while obtaining her Masters in Real Estate law in less than two years at University of Illinois Chicago John Marshall Law School.

Once back in Michigan, she continued to practice law in the fields of commercial real estate, property tax appeals, banking, foreclosure, contract review, lease negotiations, title insurance, and as in-house council. She is a member of both the State Bar of Michigan and State Bar of Illinois.

Pete Brown began his commercial real estate career with the Insite Commercial team back in 2001, at which time he specialized in tenant and landlord representation in the retail segment of the industry, along with property assemblages and acquisitions. In 2012 Pete moved on to Little Caesar Enterprises, as the Director of Leasing and Store Development, and then Advance Auto Parts, as the Real Estate Manager for the Midwest, in which he was responsible for site selection in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Most recently, he was Director of Operations for A.F Jonna Development and Management, where he was in charge of all facets of leasing and property management for one of the largest shopping center developers in Michigan.

Larry Balone has been a sales associate with Insite Commercial since 2003. Larry has extensive experience in helping both sellers and buyers in industrial and commercial real estate transactions in Western Oakland County and beyond. Larry’s willingness to help first time and experienced commercial real estate investors alike execute their financial plan is the most satisfying part of his past client assignments. Zackery Shepler recently joined Insite Commercial as a Sales Associate. Zak attended Michigan State University where he received his bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Also, during his time at MSU, Zak created a personal training business and was also a member of the Real Estate Investment Club, where he was able to further explore and expand his knowledge of real estate investments. Zak will be working in the retail, industrial and investment divisions at Insite and we welcome him to the Insite Commercial team!

Nico Sorrell obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Howard University of Washington DC, and has since worked in various aspects of the real estate industry over the past 6 years. As a new member of the Insite Commercial family, Nico carries the values of hard work, integrity, and outstanding client service into everything he does. Nico strongly believes that it is not only his duty to represent his clients to the best of his ability, but also to educate them throughout every step of the process so that they can make the best decisions possible.
